He Was Just Trying To Give The Weather Report When THIS Interrupted The Broadcast! Scary!

Piedmont, California saw a 4.0 earthquake a few days ago. It was felt by several cities and lasted for several seconds. It happened during a live broadcast during the local forecaster’s segment, ironically. It wasn’t expected, and it threw the entire crew off of their game! They even needed to pause the broadcast to find out exactly what had just happened! If that had been me, I would have been a little bit more than “rattled” because I’ve never actually felt the Earth shake before.

I’ve learned about how they work in school, and have even had to participate in “earthquake” drills, but I guess I have been lucky as to never have felt one for myself. I think these newscasters handled themselves very well in spite of everything that had just occurred. I might have asked for a day off to collect my nerves, but here’s hoping that I’ll never have to do that!

It could have been much worse, and thanks to a slew of recent movies about earthquakes, I’m much more terrified of a building falling down on top of me than the ground shaking. Our drills taught us to seek a stable structure to stand under, or to go outside and watch the ground for cracks. Well, I hope if I ever experience one, it won’t be too bad.
