He Wrote A Song Over 40 Years Ago, But Never Thought He’d Hear It Sung Like THIS! So Powerful, It Brings Tears To His Eyes!
In 1971, “Stairway To Heaven” by Led Zeppelin took America by storm and in the passing years, it is still heralded as one of the most influential and quite possibly the greatest rock songs…well, ever. It is so well-known, that anyone who has ever picked up a guitar has made it their goal to learn that gorgeous intro. The song is known to be one of the hardest to perform live due to the changing tempos, difficult vocals, and building stanzas that take real talent to pull off. That being said, Ann and Nancy Wilson, from Heart, performed this epic song without a hitch, bringing tears to the eyes of everyone in the audience.
The performance really took off during the guitar and drum solos, when the late John Bonham’s son, Jason, let loose on the drums in his father’s signature bowler hat – now considered a Bonham legacy! The emotional response from everyone who witnessed this amazing performance can be felt even through a computer screen.
At the 4 minute mark, this performance really takes on a life of its own, and I will admit that this is the best cover of this song that I have ever heard. I only wish that I could have heard it live! There must have been so much energy in that room! I bet the audience didn’t sleep a wink that night! Amazing!
