He’s Ready To Ice His Cake…But Instead He Grabs Bubble Wrap?! I Didn’t Know You Could Do This! WOW!
Let’s clear the air here. I am not a master decorator. When it’s time for a birthday, I try my hardest to bake a cake that doesn’t burn in the oven. I ice it with pre-made icing that comes in a jar. Sprinkles? Sure, as long as I can buy them in a neat little package! Decoration with icing that comes in a tube with a nozzle? Sorry, mom can’t do that. But I can stick some candles all nice to form whatever number you’ve turned this year!
So for me, watching videos like this is a work of art. I would not be surprised to find this cake in a museum with a title like, “the coolest cake in 2015.” This is so far beyond my capabilities that I wouldn’t believe it if I hadn’t watched the creation.
I will say this, though. This video was a nice change from the standard DIY tutorials because there weren’t a ton of cut scenes. He walked us through every step, and showed the patience that a lot of videos lack. Sure, if you’ve been baking and icing cakes since you were 11, a 30 second how-to video is easy to follow. For me, I need that video stretched out to cover at least 5 minutes so that I can process the steps! I think I might actually be able to make this cake…but to be safe, I’ll pick up a jar of pre-made frosting…just in case.
