Knock, knock. Who’s There? The Most Heartbreaking 9 Seconds Of Your Life.

This is a very short video packed full of emotions! Get your tissues ready. It’s clear to see what has happened – a woman died, and when her family brought her pet out to visit her grave with them, the dog has an unusual reaction. The family claimed that Wiley, an animal trained help veterans of war cope with PTSD, had never reacted like this before or after this visit – it was only this one time.

Was this wolf-dog actually crying? Did it miss grandma so much that he couldn’t contain himself? It sure does seem that way, and I’m not going to take that small comfort away from a grieving family. Watch this video for yourself and see if you can tell the difference. To me, this dog looks confused and overwhelmed with grief. Those sobs seem awfully human.

After doing a bit of research, it turns out that this reaction is called “reverse sneezing” and though my dogs have never done this, it looks a lot like what Wiley is doing in the video. I’m sure she still misses Gladys, but dogs aren’t known to cry like a human does when they feel sad or scared. Even so, I feel for this doggy! I know the feeling of loss, and it isn’t fun. Not one bit.
