Looking For A Fun Way To Recycle Old Water Bottles? It’s Perfect For Kids!
This is so simple and I’m excited to share this method with everyone! We buy a lot of bottled water where I live, mostly due to the fact that the tap water comes from a well, but I digress. I buy water in bulk which means at any given point there are at least 3 or 4 bottles sitting in the trash can. You know, those huge 33oz water bottles that don’t even fit in your purse? Yes, those. I recently discovered a really cool way to make these fun bracelets with them, and the kids love it!
Using old nail polish, they’ve made all sorts of crazy designs! Mostly revolving around super heroes and random patterns, they love to unleash their creativity after I finish melting the plastic into round edges. The paint does chip after a while, and although I did try coating it with clear polish, it just isn’t made to be durable.
This is the kind of project that would be really cute at a birthday party! It’ll get messy, so make sure all the kids are wearing smocks and are on a surface that will be easy to clean up afterwards! The most important part: put your iron on a low setting! Scraping burnt plastic off of an iron is zero fun! Be safe and enjoy this fun craft with your little ones, and take the opportunity to teach them about recycling!
