She Cuts Up Her Old Lip Stick And Puts It In The Microwave…The Results? Yes, Please!
This is a simple DIY that is can be easily customized (my favorite kind of DIYs!) depending on what you have at home! When you’re on a budget, saving a few bucks here and there can really make a huge difference in your life without having to sacrifice too much. A life without lip balm? The horror! Using things you probably already have at home is a great way to bring a little glam into your life without the hefty price tag that comes along with it.
The ingredients in the video are coconut oil, beeswax, vitamin E, essential oil, and of course any old lip color to add a tint to your lip balm! Don’t have coconut oil? Try using olive oil or soywax. Don’t have beeswax? Try Shea butter! (I bought a 100% beeswax lip balm from the grocery store because a block of beeswax was WAY out of my budget!) Play with the ratios until you get a solid when it sits at room temperature. Plus, it smells amazing! You can use any combination of essential oils that you have lying around. I go for naturally moisturizing oils because I have very dry lips. I love that you can replace the balm in an old container! I love the shape of the store-bought brand.
Try this with different colors and see what you can create! It only takes about 15 minutes to prepare and you can make a LOT for just a few bucks! That’s my kind of deal! No more chapped lips!
