T-Pain Sang The National Anthem, And We’re Wondering Why He Ever Bothered To Use Auto-Tune…

If you know who T-Pain is, you know that he is famous for his general overuse of auto-tune – a program that auto-corrects a singer’s voice to force it onto the right pitch which usually results in a robotic and electronic sound – and catchy dance tracks. He’s worked with many other talented artists, but even then he continued to use the auto-tuning affect on his voice. It made him stand out from other artists, but it led most people to believe that he used auto-tune because he needed to use auto-tune in order to sing. It didn’t bother anyone, but we always wondered what he really sounded like.

He was invited to sing the national anthem at an LA Dodgers game. Some fans were expecting him to somehow incorporate his signature electronic sound into the song, or perhaps sound really really badly. Most people wouldn’t have known any better if they only heard a few songs on the radio now and again, but it turns out that he has a truly amazing voice! When he started to sing, it became clear why he gained fame so quickly! His version of the “Star Spangled Banner” stunned the crowd, and the cheers at the end were deafening!
