These American Kids Try School Lunches From Around The World! What Do You Think Of These Foods?
This media group sat a bunch of American kids down at a table and told them they would be getting lunches from around the world. These are some examples of lunches that school children eat for lunch every day in other countries, and they wanted to see how American children would react to trying some of this new food. Their reactions were a bit disappointing to me.
When I was growing up, my mother taught me not to make fun of someone else’s food because it was rude. When you go to a neighbor’s house for dinner, you should try everything, and politely decline if you don’t like what you’ve tasted. I’ve been teaching my kids that same lesson because I feel that it is an important aspect of good manners. It will be a good habit to learn when they’re adults so that whether they will be at a business meeting, at their in-laws, or at lunch with their friends, being courteous is something that they will be known for. There is a difference between “ew, gross!” and “no, thank you.”
It was interesting to see the different meals served to growing kids around the world, and I will say that these meals all looked very nutritious and they probably tasted great! I would much rather my kids eating any of these meals than the fried chicken nuggets and mac’n’cheese and pizza and quesadillas that are usually served to elementary aged kids.
