They Search A Lake…And Find DRAGONS! Well, Close Enough!
“Snapping turtle” is a phrase that is widely used in my house to replace any nasty words that might be used when someone is being grumpy. It easily diffuses a situation and allows everyone involved to acknowledge bad behavior and brush it off because “sorry, I was being a snapping turtle” is cute. It’s our family’s code for “I messed up, I’m sorry.” Getting to learn more about snapping turtles is great because the more I watched this video, the more I giggled thinking, “that one looks like my kid!”
Okay, my kids don’t look like prehistoric animals, but it was cute to see! There are so many differences between the two different kinds of turtles, and I feel like I may actually be able to tell which one I’m looking at…if I ever happen to come across one in real life. What I’ve learned from this video so far:
1.) Do not try to touch a snapping turtle. You will probably lose a finger.
2.) The one that looks like a dragon is an alligator snapping turtle and is not, in fact, a dragon turtle.
3.) Be careful if you ever feel like swimming in a shallow lake. Yikes!
Did you learn anything new from this video, or did you know all of this already? I wasn’t familiar with these creatures at all, and I have a healthy new respect for their fast and powerful jaws!
