This Gorilla Was Bored…Until A Guest Showed Him THIS On His Phone! Cool!
Jelani the Western Lowland Gorilla is part of an endangered species. He lives in the Louisville Zoo and knew it was just a normal day in his gorilla sanctuary. There were 4 acres to explore and lots of delicious foods to eat, but he knew that at this time of day, humans came to visit him from the other side of the glass! Big humans, small humans, all sorts of humans would come to take his picture and say ‘hello’ before the day was over. That was all he really expected…until this visitor pulled a mysterious object out of his pocket and turned it on.
This boy started scrolling through pictures of other gorillas and apes and monkeys from zoos around the country, and Jelani was excited to see all of them! This was different than the normal visits that he got, and it was much more interesting. Every time Jelani was done looking at a picture, he made a motion with his hand to say, ‘next,’ and the boy would scroll to the next image! How exciting! After a while, they leaned on the window so that it was easier for the boy to scroll and for Jelani to see the pictures.
What a fun day for this endangered gorilla! Hopefully they can get off of the critically endangered list very soon! It would be sad to lose such an intelligent species!
