This Kitty Has To HUNT For His Dinner Thanks To This Clever Invention!
Owning a house cat can be a challenge (I hear) that takes a little bit of clever engineering if you happen to have a picky cat. I’ve heard stories about cats that won’t eat unless they are being scratched behind the ears. I’ve heard about cats that tip over water bowls if the water is too cold. Cats will oftentimes knock things off of a shelf just because they can. Sometimes, they refuse to eat food unless it has been served in their favorite bowl. These are some of the reasons I have never owned cats, but seeing this video made me appreciate how much work some people will put into making their pets happy!
This dedicated owner devised a way to simulate “hunting” behavior in his house cat by creating a clever box. It’s hooked up to an automatic kitty feeder that releases a small amount of kibble at a time. In order to get the kibble out of the container, the cat must find little balls that have been hidden around the house. Once he finds a ball, he learns to place it into an opening that tells the feeder to release a handful of kibble.
The owner says that this is good for the cat because he will eat when he feels hungry, and not just because there is food in his bowl. This is a fun idea to keep those clever kitties entertained! Awesome!
