This Locked Shed Is A Time Capsule From 70 Years Ago…Some Items Are Over 100 Years Old! Amazing!
This shed hadn’t been forgotten, but it hadn’t been opened for 66 years, either. When they asked the owner why she hadn’t bothered to come into the shed earlier, she just explained that she “lost the keys.” Seems like a reasonable explanation to me! Since 1955, this shed had been gathering dust (and spiders) in her backyard, and finally decided that it was time to crack it open and sell everything at auction. A lot of these treasures were still functional even after all of this time had passed.
There is so much nostalgia in this small space! They seem to have brought along an expert as well. You can hear him educating everyone who was involved about the purpose of this or the history of that. I imagine that at the time this shed was locked up, these items were already a little bit out of date and was going to be used for brief storage. After a certain amount of time, everyone must have forgotten what was in there in the first place. This shed might not have had priceless artifacts, but it did carry a lot of history! It’s fascinating to watch them go through each item.
My favorite part of all of this? I definitely loved the 100 year old light bulbs hanging from the two chandeliers looming above the group. Aside from the spiders. Have I mentioned that I don’t like spiders?
