This Toll Collector Was Fired For One Very Odd Reason. Do You Agree?!
What if you could be penalized for helping someone in need? That’s exactly what happened to Sam after 29 years on the job. After helping someone, he was called into the office and fired.
The official reason that Sam was fired may not make any sense to most of us. He was a kind-hearted man who cared for the people that crossed his bridge everyday. When someone was a little short on cash, he would pay for their toll. He didn’t mind because he knew that they would bring a little bit extra the next day to reimburse him. “I got the $6 back the next day!” Sam exclaimed, confused and upset. But to the toll office, it was unacceptable to help anyone cross the bridge without collecting their full toll.
All he did was make his customer’s day a little bit brighter. Handing out lollipops to children and dog treats to pets was his own personal touch throughout the the day – and after 29 years, the people who crossed came to know him, too. When he started the job nearly 30 years ago, he began giving out treats to children. Now, he gives candies to the children’s children. He’s like family to the town, and the people are upset.
Are you as frustrated as I am after watching this video? I hope that Sam finds joy in his volunteer work, and that he can find another job soon!
