When This Fire Fighter Walked Into A Local Gas Station, He Didn’t Realize That THIS Would Happen! OMG!
“This is gonna be quick and easy; give me the money!” That’s what this 19 year old would-be robber told the cashier at the Midlothian gas station one afternoon. He thought it would be a quick way to get some fast cash, but what he didn’t realize is that the man he pushed past at the counter was Daniel Gaskey, a Marine veteran who isn’t afraid of doing the right thing when someone is in danger.
He tackled the kid who was wielding a 5 inch hunting knife and it only took him 7 seconds! He was worried, but he knew that if he did it right, he wouldn’t be stabbed because the kid wouldn’t be able to stab him…he hoped. When acting so bravely, there is always a chance that it might go horribly, terribly wrong, but Daniel didn’t care about that. He only cared about subduing the criminal and protecting everyone else around him.
“I’d like to think that anyone else in that situation would’ve been able to assess and done the right thing, too,” is how Daniel responded when local news stations began to calling him a “hero.”
After pinning down the criminal for what seemed like ages, police finally arrived on the scene and placed the kid in handcuffs. Whether Daniel acknowledges it or not, he was a hero that day, and made a difference in a way that no one else could have.
