This Guy Starts Dancing In A Train Station…And Quickly Took Over The “Dance Floor!”
Before the concept of a flash mob was invented, if you saw a man starting to dance in a public transportation area, you would either try and pass by the “crazy” person really quickly, or drop a few coins into his up-turned hat. Doing something abnormal in a crowded area goes against our human nature. The very first flash mob must have taken a lot of guts because it does just that! It takes a large group of people into a crowded area and shocks everyone with a random dance, marriage proposal, performance, or publicity stunt – but it really makes a huge statement. That must be why people love them so much!
This particular flash mob’s performance was to promote a tv program that was searching for someone to play “fraulein Maria” in their upcoming production of The Sound Of Music and what an incredible way to do it! This clever stunt is done to a version of the song that has been slightly remixed, and impressively, the cast of this flash mob only met for 2 rehearsals! They must have been very competent dancers…learning something like this would have taken me a LOT more than just 2 rehearsals!
I hope that I can witness a flash mob one day! I probably won’t want to be in it or film it – I like to experience these kind of things without having to bother with a phone – but I’d love to watch it from the sidelines!
