When This Boy Crosses The Finish Line, You Can’t Help But Cheer! I Can’t Believe He Made It!
Children are amazing. They do things without thinking that it might not be possible – they have faith that they can overcome any obstacle and succeed at any task if they just try hard enough. Somewhere along the way, most adults lose this child-like ability to overcome their fears and shortcomings, and it’s videos like this that will make you look at your life and decide that you can overcome the impossible if you just try hard enough.
Bailey Matthews is 8 years old and has been living with cerebral palsy. Even with his limitations hanging over his head daily, Bailey decided that he would complete a triathalon…the Castle Howard Triathalon! This included a 100 meter swim, a 4,000 meter bike ride, and the most difficult part of all, a 1,300 meter run.
With the aid of his walker, he hustles towards the finish line having completed every task except for the run. His body is tired and his limbs are giving out, but his mind says “just one more step! You can do it!” He never gives up, not once! His father even runs to the finish line along side him, supporting him step by step. At the end, he decides that he wants to cross the finish line on his own. He lets go of his walker and tries to run, but falls down almost immediately. Even THAT doesn’t stop him! He gets back up and runs even faster towards the finish line! The crowd has never cheered so hard!
